Top 5 Free Beaches In Jamaica
You probably already know that Jamaica's coastline is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, drawing millions of tourist every year. Narrowing down the best beaches in Jamaica for FREE is an extremely difficult task.
But below, I’ll share my favorites free beaches from different parts of Jamaica.
WINIFRED BEACH - PORTLAND
Winifred Beach is a locally popular public beach in Portland, Jamaica. It is traditionally Jamaican, with native food stalls, donkey rides and plenty of shade.
2. SAN SAN BEACH - PORTLAND
3. SEVEN MILE BEACH - NEGRIL
Pirates once haunted this seven-mile stretch of golden sand beach, now ruled by pleasure-seeking beach bums and sun-worshipers.
4. BIKINI BEACH - PORTLAND
Within an easy 10-minute walk outside of the city of Port Antonio, it’s easy and free access. Bikini Beach is perfect for an afternoon swim. There is not much sand there. The water is somewhat washed up to the shore, resulting to less sand. It closes at 5 PM.
5. LIME CAY
This small, uninhabited island off the coast of Kingston (Port Royal) is as quiet as can be during the week and is ideal for nude sunbathing. (There is almost no foot traffic at that time.) On Sundays, the locals bring limes, food, beer, and good vibes. The island - and small islands surrounding is ideal for snorkeling, but bring your own mask and fins. There are no facilities on Lime Cay, so come prepared with plenty of water. The airport is nearby, so expect to see low flying aircraft from time to time. The island is just 15 minutes by boat from Port Royal.
If you plan to visit Jamaica anytime soon, be sure to check out these beaches. Most of our island is not known to have picturesque, pristine beaches FREE of charge, so take advantage of these beautiful free beaches.
