My Top 5 Brunch Spots in Kingston, Jamaica

IMG_8480.jpg

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. However in recent years the humble breakfast has been overshadowed by its younger, cooler and Insta-famous little sister — brunch.

More restaurants across Kingston are getting their "brunch on” than ever before, but while that means we are all spoilt with choices it also presents the need to prioritize finding the most perfect one of them all.

There are a host of restaurants which serve traditional Jamaican breakfast, like ackee and saltfish, as well as international classics, like pancakes and crêpes. Here’s a list of my TOP 5 best brunch spots in Kingston.

SUMMERHOUSE

Address88 Knutsford Boulevard New Kingston

Phone(876) 906-6515

Summerhouse is an oasis in New Kingston filled with pure delight. It’s my favorite place for excellent food, relaxing atmosphere, great service and exceptional menu options. To find all these great attributes in one place is a struggle in Jamaica if i’m being perfectly honest. The restaurant and bar serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, craft cocktails and tea designed for the season. Pastries and the famous Blue Mountain Coffee are also featured.

TEA TREE CRÊpERIE

AddressUnit # 2 80, Lady Musgrave Rd, Kingston

Phone(876) 978-7333

As their website states, they “offer a "French Fusion", Cordon Bleu-style menu with a twist for all palates. The first of its kind in Jamaica, it's likely you've never experienced a meal quite like this. Served by friendly faces, their amazingly sweet & savory varied menu is elevated by the quaint, inviting setting and extraordinary customer service.”

They have excellent service! Unique decor! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is courteous. The hardest part for me is actually choosing my meal. There are so many tasty choices.

Fromage is a french-themed bistro serving light European style food. I’ve had several different dishes from the restaurant on several different occasions. I find the food to be great and the staff very accommodating and friendly! The atmosphere is modern and chic.

Food and Beverage DownTown, or short F&B DownTown, is a unique concept, in the heart of DownTown and it doesn't just offer food. It also has world class jewelry and local gift items on display. There's also a large bar with selected sprits, fine rums and classic wines from around the world. The menu offers excellent selections of fine local dishes and various dishes from around the globe with an Italian and Asian touch.

JAMAICA LIQUOUR WAREHOUSE

Address17, Lindsay Crescent, Kingston

Phone(876) 925-9427

This place should be spoken about more. Don’t let the name fool you; the Jamaican Liquor Warehouse is not all about liquor. They have a great menu with a big variety but small enough not to get you confused. A lot of vegetarian and pescatarian options are available also. The brunch menu includes croque madame, waffle sandwiches, french toast, steak and omelets, and many other delicious international meals.
